  • Ask around
  • Check reviews
  • Look up business on MN secretary of state website, and dept. of labor.
  • Make sure they are licensed, bonded, and insured.
  • Watch out for excessively low bids, that should be a red flag.

Indoor Air Quality

Indoor Air Quality- is the quality of the air in your home and other structures.

Here are some easy Indoor Air Quality solutions you can do at home:

  • Start by making sure you change your furnace filter regularly, check it monthly, and replace it if necessary.
  • Make sure your fresh air ventilation system is clean and operating correctly (if unsure call us to verify it for you).
  • Keep humidity levels between 30-45% in your home.

We offer the latest technologies to help create healthy air in your home, call us for help.

Elite is also a SecureAire dealer. SecureAire is backed by a 90-day money-back guarantee.

There is usually a door or cover on the return ductwork attached to the furnace. Just remove that and slide the old filter out and replace it with a new one with the airflow arrow pointing towards the furnace blower.

You can buy air filters at most major hardware stores.

A ductless heat pump has no ductwork. It has an outdoor unit and an indoor wall unit that is typically hung on a wall or mounted on the floor.

One head can heat one room or a couple of rooms called a “zone”. Multiple units can heat a whole house. This is a good option for homes with no ductwork.

There are many advantages. Most thermostats will have energy savings listed. Ecobee can save up to 26%.

Smart Thermostats also learn your schedule and will alert you if there is an issue.

We use Ecobee Smart Thermostats. Having a professional technician install it increases the warranty.

Yes, you want your home to be at 30-50% relative humidity. If you are constantly out of that range there could be many negative effects including:

  • Bacterial Infections
  • Catching Colds More Often
  • Mold Growth
  • Discomfort

Heating & Cooling

New technology has reduced the size of furnaces, they are also more efficient. In years past with 80% efficient furnaces it took larger furnaces to get the same output as new 96-98% efficient furnaces.

Absolutely! With the long cold winters of Minnesota, you can save a lot by going with a 2 stage furnace. You can increase your savings even more with a fully modulating furnace with efficiency ratings of up to 98%

Sure you can, but most people don’t realize is that all the online sellers or vendors are showing the manufacturer’s warranty and claiming that you still will have a factory warranty.

This is unfortunately not true. Every manufacturer voids the warranty for any equipment purchased online. Elite Cool & Heat, along with the most reputable HVAC service providers do not install equipment purchased online because of the lack of a manufacturer’s warranty.

Truthfully, you are not saving money online and we highly recommend going with a professional HVAC contractor so that you are fully covered.

It’s a good idea to get in the habit of having your furnace and air conditioner serviced on an annual basis.

Have your furnace serviced in the fall and the air conditioner serviced in the spring to prevent wear and tear and keep your units running efficiently.

If you rely on your heat pump for both heating and cooling, you should have your heat pump service bi-annually. Just like your furnace, it’s a good idea to have it serviced in the spring and fall.

If a furnace has been neglected service for a few years, it might just need a few repairs to get it working again. Working with the experienced team at Elite Cool & Heat can help determine the extent of the damage.

However, if your furnace is 15-20 years old, it is a good idea to consider a replacement. With so many advancements in modern heating and cooling technology, upgrading to a new system could have a lot of benefits like better efficiency.

There are a number of reasons why your bills could be so high.

Your furnace could need service, your thermostat could be malfunctioning, your air ducts are clogged, or there may be other issues that are hard to spot.

To prevent high bills this winter call Elite Cool & Heat to schedule a service appointment so we can come to your home and investigate.

There are a lot of variables when it comes to picking the best heating and cooling solutions for your needs.

Call Elite Cool & Heat to go over your available options of what works best for your home design.

Heat pumps will save on fuel costs, but the initial investment is more expensive compared to your standard air conditioning unit.

It is not usually necessary. Air Conditioner units are designed to be out in the elements. When you cover them you create an ideal place for rodents to live.

If you have ice accumulation over the unit,  protecting the top of the unit is a good idea.

Our A/C unit stopped working the day before our son’s graduation party. I was completely panicked. None of the other larger chain repair companies answered their phones, or even returned my voicemail messages left on their after hours line.Jon responded to my call right away helping me troubleshoot the problem over the phone (after hours). He provided me a repair estimate that was way less money than I expected! We were able to get the repair done in time for my son’s party. I truly appreciate the fact that Jon was knowledgeable, honest, upfront and didn’t try to upsell me on any unnecessary services. He was very understanding and respectful of my time crunch. Jon and Elite Cool And Heat, LLC will be my Go-To HVAC company for all my future repairs and service!
